Photo of Masonic Cemetery
Memorial wall placed in 2003 to honour the victims of the 1903 Flash Flood that occurred on 14 Jun 1903, destroying the town and taking the lives of an estimated 250 people. The bodies that were located are buried on the hill in Heppner Masonic Cemetery. Many were not found. The memorial wall depicts a panoramic rendering of the flood's destruction and lists the known names of the victims. There is a resting bench with "Days of Sorrow" inscribed on it. The view behind the memorial is of the valley and the town below.
