"It is believed that the cemetery was started by members of the DeBoe family in the early 1800s. According to cemetery record books, there are approximately 70 marked graves, at least 25 sandstones and several unmarked graves. The first documented burial is that of Martha Ann Riley, the two year-old daughter of Stephen and Mary "Polly" Riley. She died Oct. 15, 1841. Other early burials are Sarah Felker with a death date of Dec. 28, 1843, and Jasper Dollar with a death date of Juley 4, 1850. The last known burial is that of Robert Logan Shinall in 1945. Surnames of families buried there include Crayne, DeBoe, Dollar, Guess, McCaslin, McChesney, Riley and Shinall."
