The Wilbour memorial bell tower or carillon was built in the 1890s, a gift of Isaac Champlin Wilbour, 'father' of the Rhode Island Red breed of chicken, and his cousin Charles Edwin Wilbour of 'Boss Tweed' fame who later became America's premier Egyptologist.
This beautiful chapel contains a chime of bells imported from Belgium and within the tower are marble tablets commemorating many members of the Wilbour family beginning with Governor Isaac Wilbour.
