Photo of Mount Moriah Cemetery
Mt. Moriah has been adbandoned for quite sometime. It appears to have been actively used between 1826 - 1918. It now sits within private farmland although access is still available through a gate near the road. It is difficult to make out from the side of the road. One has to be looking carefully. The first indication is the three confederate soldier CSA markers which sit very near the side of the road. Those have been placed since 1918 probably to honor those known confederates who are buried within the cemetery itself. Much of the cemetery lies in ruin due to storm damage and cattle roam freely within what is left of the cemetery. It is unfortunate as many of Lincoln County's earliest settlers reside within this cemetery.
