At the site of Ruddles Fort. My 6th Great Grandmother, Maria Knodler-Hon & her 4 children were present on the day the fort was attacked by Col. Henry Bird, his British soldiers, & approximately 700-800 Indians of many different tribes. Her husband, my 6th Great Grandfather, Joseph Hon Sr was away from the fort at the time of the attack. It took him 6+ years to ransom Maria. She was held by Shawnee Chief Blue Jacket. His son & my 5th Great Grandfather, Joseph Hon Jr was 6 years old at the time of the attack. He was taken by Indians also, tribe unknown, length of captivity 6-12 years. 3 daughters, Catherine "Kitty" was force marched from Kentucky to Detroit and then on to Canada where she lived out the remainder of her life. Mary "Polly" & Margaret "Peggy" also were never returned to the family as far as I know. There is a little information about them but I haven't been able to square it all up yet.
