|Well, I am standing in front of an "old jail" up in Virginia City in this photo, as I live near nearby and love to go up there and learn a little history and have a little fun. There are a few very old cemeteries up there also, of course! |
I am a music teacher here in Nevada, love riding my horses and my bike, even rode across Nevada two years ago on highway 50 on my bike, (310 miles) via "The Loneliest Road In America" I loved it! Another hobby of mine is photography and family history and that is what lead me to this site. I'm finding it very helpful in my family searches and I volunteered to take photos, as I love taking pictures and helping people. My friend, who is a reporter/photographer for the Reno Gazzette Journal, wrote a book "Alkali Angels" in which she searched cemeteries here in Nevada for two years or more, in places that most people don't know even exhist, and recorded them with photographs for her book. This inpired me too. It's a great contribution to all of our history. So I appreciate all those out there doing the same thing using this web site. I would have never seen my great-grand parent's resting places if it had not been for people like you recording and helping and posting! Happy trails...from the loneliest highway in America!
