This is one of my favorite tombstones. It is that of John Pryor Duram. He was a mason. The pillar atop the marker is broken if half symbolizing that he didn't live a full life. He died at 29 yrs of age. On one if the sides there is a picture carved in the marker of a woman weeping at the tombstone. It's unusual but it was worth the 3 miles of pigtrails, mud, and getting stuck a few times. This cemetery is located near the flint river. If you follow the road near it it will lead to the where the ferry used to cross the river. The road used to be a main roadway but is no longer in use leaving this cemetery far in the woods and difficult to get to.

Happy Hunting!
