I've been doing genealogy since I was a teenager when I interviewed the elders, all long gone by now. Family history has been my life long passion interrupted only by 15 years of living overseas in various places. I'm a fairly recent member of Findagrave. The gravestone on the left in this photo dusted with flour is alone on a bluff top across a creek leaning against a tree above a farm (my cousin & I leaned it against the tree and braced it with rocks and told the surprised farmer that he has a graveyard on his land in Nelson, WI). It is hard to get to and heavy but I would really like it to be moved to a cemetery. The deceased had nine children so there are descendants but I don't know if any know where his stone is located. When I was a child, there were more graves with it but those have long since been covered by the forest. Any ideas?
