|  | A few years after catching the genealogy bug all on my own, I came into possession of the genealogy research that my great grandfather Varnum Ezra Gratto (35510745) did throughout his life (a defining trait of his that I knew nothing about until I asked about the people in one hidden away photo!) One of his achievements was, in the early 1970s, restoring the monuments of his grandparents. This photo is of me in 2007 with the monument that he placed at the Wagon Landing Cemetery in Polk County, Wisconsin. The headstones are of Calista M (Cole) Babcock (27071989) and her FIL Varnum Maxon Babcock (27071886). I am a direct descendant of both of them. |
