Lynda McGinnis
Absalom Cary was a soldier of the American Revolution, born in Orange Co, NY. His family survived the Wyoming Valley Massacre in Pennsylvania and fled through the woods back to Wallkill, NY where they lived until the early 1800s. Absalom, his wife Temperance and most of their children moved west to Chemung Co, NY. They are buried in the Dry Book Cemetery.
