R.I.P. ~S.K.A.T.E.~
My daughter, Summer Dawn Rust was born 8-11-83. She was the sweetest, most kind hearted girl I ever met and I feel blessed that I was chosen to give birth to her. She would do anything for anyone and never bat an eye. Even when she really couldn't, she did & although she didn't have much to some, she was rich where it matters-in her spirit, in the amount of lives she touched, the people who loved her... She was indeed blessed. She loved her beautiful chilren more than life itself & if she'd had a choice it would have been a hands down, "I'm going with my babies, you got me bent." lol... Such a funny, vibrant young lady. I am proud to be her "Mommy".
She got a tattoo on her right shoulder blade after she realized the her kids initals spelled, "KATE". She told me about how cool that was when she realized it & I laughed & told her I should add her initial & get one that says, "SKATE" we had a big laugh over that. And now I'm planning to do it.
I was looking through an old yearbook of hers & a teacher wrote, "Your name fits your personality, bright, warm & pleasant." I would say that's highly accurate.
After my dad passed, we both became acutely aware of "little old men." We would acquaint them to my dad somehow & would call each other & say, I met this little old man & .... lol. We took it upon ourselves to look out for them. She had just told me of one in El Reno at the post office that she had helped & was feeling really good about it. She always got a charge from helping people-instead of a grumbling or ignoring them. This was one of her tickets into heaven, I know it was.
