Photo of Verden a.d. Aller (St.-Johannis-Friedhof)
The St. Johannis church located northerly right behind the townhall is one of the oldest brick buildings of Northern Germany. It is said that it was built during the first quarter of the 12th century by dutch building workers. At the beginning of the 14th century the side-aisles were added. Untill 1807 the area around the church was used as a graveyard.
