Bio and Links
Bio Photo I've been researching my family history on and off for quite a few years but have not been very consistent or well organized. I recently joined and came across and have renewed enthusiasm. I love photography and meandering through old cemetaries so becoming a volunteer photographer seemed a natural fit. I only wish I had more time to devote to both that and my own research.

I was fortunate to have a good start to some of my family history through my great-grandmother's application to join the DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution). The ancestor she referenced was Robert Adams, Jr. I've since found many other lines, including Hall, Ventress, Mudge, Eddy and others. I've been amazed at the amount of information that is now availble on the Web. It's such a wonderful way to learn about the history of an area or a period in time and makes it so much more personal than just reading a history book. I look forward to many more years of discovery and adventures.

Carroll family pictures
Thank you so much Carol for taking the pictures of Cecil Carroll and Elsie Carroll. I appreciate your help so much. My only great aunt married Samuel Carroll and I believe these are part of his family. I am truly grateful for all the help that is given by you. Tina

Thanks for checking for his grave marker. Did you happen to check with the historical site's office to see if they knew where he was buried in the cemetery and whether or not he had a marker. I believe this is a tourist attraction and someone would know this information. Or were they closed when you went to look. I am surprised that his burial would be marked with just a field stone, but then again 1843 was a long time ago! Thanks for your efforts and let me know if there is any possibility the office would know more and perhaps I should call them to get a plot.

Dear Carol,
Thank you for taking the time to go to the Pen Park-Gilmer Family Cemetery to look for one of my grave requests. I truly appreciate your servant heart. Have a happy weekend.

RE: Thank you
You are very welcome. It does appear that the marker is at the foot of the grave if she was buried in a full size casket. Some of the markers in that cemetery are placed that way so it is not that different, just thought you might like to know. I do have another photo showing the full grave site if you would care to see that.
