Oh . . Oh . . I think I sprained my wrist patting myself on the back. ha
Maybe there is a glitch in your contact list. I don't get failures when I send to firstname.lastname@example.org. Did you try that one?

Joe is now attached to his parents. Yippy for us. We just keep peckin' at it and eventually it starts taking shape.
Stay warm. :)

Hmm . . I don't know about them bouncing back but it won't stop me from trying the same thing as you.
Hold your breath and wish me luck. :)

I went out to the cemetery yesterday. Section EW is one of those currently in the process of restoration. So, when the sun decides to cooperate, the area around the marker will be pristine.

Right now there are two problems with getting photos in the Presidio. Right now they are in the process of sprucing up the cemetery. Large section are blocked off while they reset the markers, level the ground and put down new sod. Where they have finished is beautiful, but if your request is in one of those sections, a photo is not possible. The other problem is the sun. The folks who laid out the cemetery back in the mid-nineteenth century didn't envision Find A Grave. To my shame, I've taken a lot of bad pictures. Now that I've figured it out, I know there is a window of time during the day when one can get a decent photo. Outside of that window the marker is in the shade and often is impossible to read in a photo. Currently that window of opportunity is somewhere between 7:30am-8:30am. I'm not an early riser. Several of us have tried using reflectors to get a better picture, but that didn't work out so well. When the days get longer, that window of opportunity gets longer and occurs later in the day.
I should ask....Is your photo request for a veteran's family member? Those inscriptions are frequently on the back of the marker and can be photographed in the afternoon.
Tell me who you are looking for. If I can't get it, put your request back up in the Spring to improve your odds of getting a decent photo.
PS I think you should get special privileges for being one of the first ones here.

I'd be happy to transfer the memorials for your great grandmother and half brother! I look forward to the additional information you have to add to their memorials--I'm avidly interested in the history of the Berkeley area and its past citizens.

Thank you for photographing the grave marker for Marlene Malouf Hall. I just linked her to her parents and noticed that you also photographed their markers. I sincerely appreciate everything that you have done for me regarding my photo requests. Regards!
