I would like to ask if you would take a moment to place a flower at my dad's memorial, Gene H. Barnes (1928-2007) at Wichita Park Cemetery, Wichita, Sedgwick County, Kansas? Many thanks to those who have.

At one time or another, we have all looked at a cemetery and felt that the people buried there are not only long gone, they're also long forgotten. And if it happens to be our relatives or friends it can leave an especially empty feeling. But, Findagrave empowers us to put an end to those concerns. Therefore, I now view cemeteries as a place where people can be remembered and their stories saved and shared rather than lost.

Just one of the many lives that sticks with me is that of Daniel Cason, former slave and Union Civil War soldier who died in Newton, Kansas in 1911 at the age of 67. What incredible obstacles some have been forced to overcome.

Within most people, there is a basic desire to learn the events of their family's history. The fortunate ones get to experience those moments of discovery. As Gordon Lightfoot wrote, "to know the wherefore and the why."

RE: Ellenor Hardy Hoskinson, Burrton, Ks.
If you are from the Burrton, KS area, you may be part of my Mourn family. There is a line a Barnes's in it.

No. I am not related to those Millers nor do I know of anyone who is researching that family.

Cole Family
I'm unaware of the Cole Family you mentioned. Several years ago there was a lady named Pam Thompson who was doing research on several Cole families. I do not have her current contact information though.

Stephen Cumberland Barnes
Just posted copy of Application for tombstone by widow of S C Barnes in Union Cemetery. There are many records mixed up with Stephen Barnes 1831-1912, both families and military records. I hope this record will prove who is in the grave at Union Church. I am now trying to separate the two families information.

I added a picture of Elvan taken in 1901 to his page.

In the photo you added I pretty sure Elvan is on the Left and Nelson is on the right. So that leaves the middle one as Leonard. I have cropped pic of Leonard in my Family tree records that was cropped from this same picture with parts of Effie behind him that I got from someone on

RE: Redmon Cemetery, Cooke Co., Tx.
Thanks for the response. If you would be so kind I would also like you to transfer Jane Collinsworth (35348949) to me. My contributor number is 47242980.
I will see if I can locate any sources in Cooke County with an interest in cleaning up and preserving the little Redmon Cemetery. Wish I lived closer so I could make a project of working through the things that could be done to save the history there. But, it's at least 1 1/2 hours from home here in the Metromess to get to the site in Cooke County.
Once again, Thanks.
Best Regards
