Much thanks to those who provide me with additional information and corrections - they are all greatly appreciated

Please note that when I request to post something for any information you might send to me - I mean to post it on findagrave and if you do not wish to have the information posted please let me know - thank you

I began to research my family tree over 20 years ago and I have been quite lucky for my family had always been told that the records were burned in a fire in New Jersey - what New Jersey had to do with a family who lived in Brooklyn, NY was beyond me - but I was to learn that most of my family had indeed been born in New Jersey.

You have to watch certain people in this forum because they go around stealing your work, and giving you no credit. I have one woman in mind but I am too much of a gentleman to name her, but she is a sneak, a backstabber, a liar, a con artist so be careful in dealing with some people here in findagrave and in life!

If you help me, then I give you credit and I would expect the same in turn.

It is so vitally important that we provide what information we can here because we seek our ancestors - so please try to include every piece of information you can think of when you post in this forum - esp. the maiden names of wives, the middle initials - anything that will help a person to determine if this person might be theirs - for if we all did that, our searches would become a lot easier.

Thanks and good luck!

Mike

Do you know why he was buried in Toronto and not in New Jersey If he was just on a business trip?

RE: Lillian D. (Ayers) Hyers
I agree that state birth records are usually the more authoritative, but in comparing these two 1880 census documents, I think they point to Lillian D. as the daughter of James H. and Marietta and not the daughter of James F. and Sarah.

Thanks for considering.

Louis Alfred Pierce 1889-1943
Michael, Thanks for adding this info. Louis Alfred Pierce is my paternal grandfather. He was buried 27 Mar 1943 in Paramus, Bergen, NJ at George Washington Memorial Park Cemetery. When his wife, Ella Bennett, died 23 March 1917 in Jersey City, Louis married Marie D. Eickhoff in 1918, also from Jersey City. Louis and Ella had 2 sons, Raymond Alfred Pierce (1914-1993) and Walter Louis Pierce (1915-1993). Louis and Ella (Bennett) Pierce also had a stillborn son in 1917, buried with Ella May Bennett Pierce. Ella and the stillborn son are buried in the Hoboken Cemetery, North Bergen NJ (believe in Section Q Plot 146). However, despite repeated attempts, the Hoboken Cemetery has not responded to requests to locate the plot or provide information for my grandmother, Ella,(Louis' 1st wife). Let me know if you need other information. Thanks again for all you do. Sue Email: meyersas@comcast.net (Bellevue, Washington)

RE: William Pyne
Yes, that's him! I have found his obit, but I can not locate where he is buried. I've been following his son and Mabel Longstreet trying to find clues. That's how I came across this info.

Thank you ;) Cris
