Bio

Sally Stockdale, born Sally Christine Woltz. I never listened very well to the family history my mother used to tell me. She had all sorts of photos of her relatives, and so many stories, but I was too immature to appreciate them. After she died, the photos disappeared and the words she spoke to me became muddled. I had one piece of the puzzle, a drawing made by Gustav Horn that went through the Rockdale Flood. It still had flood mud on it. Otherwise, I would pick up pieces of the puzzle here and there, but nothing substantial. In July 2016 I met Linda Weaver, a shirttail relative of my husband. She had researched her (and consequently much of my husband's) family history. She generously put together a book for him, and asked me about my family. I didn't know much. And in a very short time, I know so much more. She has become my mentor and has helped me find my roots.
