|Don Blauvelt||RE: Cyprian Nichols|
Your email prompted me to review my collection of documents regarding Cyprian, and add a few words to his Find A Grave memorial. I believe it is likely he was the son of William, the elder brother of the Cyprian who died testate at Witham in 1642. It maybe that Cyprian was born at sea given rise to the initial use of the name Seaborn (q.v.) in the first records of him at Hartford. But, there is a title accorded Cyprian but once in the Hartford Town votes that is haunting, not in a negative way, as to what Cyprian's real vocation was at Hartford during the majority of his adult life. I am working toward trying to resolve the meaning or inference of that title.
