RE: Arinder Origins
Dear Jacob, I am sorry that I am just now getting your message concerning the origin of the Arinders. I obviously have not been on find a grave in a while.

What I know about our origins is not much. We had a distant cousin, Thomas Richardson, who did much research on the Arinders, even visiting other countries in an effort to pinpoint our origins. His time was before the computer age, so I don't know if there's more to be found. I was not even aware of a visitor to Ellis Island from Russia. He may have known about him, but if so, I missed hearing about it. What I have always been told, by Mr. Richardson, my Dad, and my uncle who did research, is that all Arinders and Arenders are related back to Henry Arinder, origin unknown. He had 2 sons, Samson Arender and Tillman Arinder. They migrated to Mississippi from the Carolina's, along with the McCarty family, Aleotha McCarty being the wife of Tillman. Why they spelled their names differently is not really known, other than census or military officials spelling names how they sounded, and it just falling out that way. It has served in telling which brother from whom we descended.

So, that all being said, Arinders and Arenders are Americans!

I would love to know more about you if you ever care to share. I wish I knew more answers, but unless more has been uncovered about which I don't know, this is it.
