I always was curious about my ancestry and always found interesting the details that others had uncovered. It wasn't until my first child was born that I felt this urgent need to be able to tell him where he came from and how he got here. The stories I've uncovered, the tragedies and trials that our ancestors suffered through are completely heartbreaking. But then the adventures they had and the new lives they started are as equally exciting to discover. |
In the end, I nor my son would be here had our forefathers & mothers not made the choices they did, had they not lived the lives they had. Our ancestors all deserve to be remembered - these monuments were important enough to those who had them erected to ensure that the names of their loved ones didn't fade into historic obscurity and it's now our duty to ensure those who've passed before us are not forgotten. You're never truly gone so long as someone remembers.

Thanks Carrie for hooking me on to the Coldstream Hillside Cemetery. It also seems to be called Rockland as well as Coldstream. Thanks.
|Rodney Rogers||Hillside Cemetery|
Is there any chance you might be in the area of Hillside Cemetery in Rockland/Coldstream any time soon.It seems that no one has entered it in Find a Grave.

I would almost certainly say this was my grandfather and uncle that built these houses or at least did the finishing. Grandfather was from Woodstock/Newburg area. Would it be possible if that the next time you pass by that house that you could send me a picture of it? As you can tell I work on this in fits and starts, so no rush. Thank you so much, and if there is anything in Alberta I could help you with, i would gladly do so.

Do you live in Carleton Co?
|Elizabeth McKenzie||RE: Re: Rideouts|
Yes it's entirely possible I have the wrong cemetery, Upper or Lower Knoxford. Thanks!

I forgot to mention that I really connect to your bio message. Beverly

I see your hard work too. And I hope you don't mind that sometimes I add an additional tombstone photo where you already have one. My goal is to have these photographs for future generations to see [even though the stones may deteriorate over the years.]
I use a Sony Cybershot DSC-RX100 that has a Zeiss lens. I also edit all my photographs before I add them to Findagrave.
Because I live in New Mexico and only visit NB once a year [I have a few cousins in Carleton Co and my dad grew up there] I can't be choosy when I take my pictures. if I get a bad batch because of the sun, I make to note to shoot a cemetery next year at a different time of the day. Cloudy days are the best!!!!!
Thank you for your efforts to locate the final resting places of Charles Rideout and Bathsheba Jane Rideout Gallupe. Much appreciated.
|Aunt & Uncle T||RE: Floyd B Bishop|
Thank you! I linked them together. Someone had put in a memorial for Floyd, without any information, and linked it to her. He isn't buried where that memorial has him. I think they just might have been going by the obituary that is added on Georgia's memorial. Again, thanks for the information!!
|Gerry Goss||RE: Andrew Long|
Carrie, you're the best. Thank you for going out of your way to do this. I think if you could take a picture and forward it, I will add it to the Long's Ancestry page. And I hope easier for you.
My email address is:
Thanks again, and enjoy the rest of the summer. I am very familiar with how early winter starts in NB!!
