I agree with Robert Kemp NOT dying in the civil war. I saw where he was paroled but then went back into the civil war but NEVER returned. hummmm
Second clue was "like you mentioned" the application for benefits filed by Mary and was turned down.
Another interesting item was the 1870 census where Mary Ann Blow and her son James "Blow" are living back in the house with her parents. She doesn't use her married name. All other Census records, she used Kemp. hummmm
I think her dad put the fear of God in Robert Kemp. I am trying to find out who his family was.
RE: Blow Family Wow Wow Wow !!! You've got me now ! Gee have I got tons of questions.
Mary Ann Blow married Robert C Kemp. They had one child, James H Kemp. My grandmother mentioned James Harrison Kemp but one document had James Henry Kemp. Most of the time, he went by J.H. or James H Kemp.
James H Kemp married 7 times. I have proof of 6 wives. What was of GREAT INTEREST to me was the connection with a couple of his wives names to the names of Mary Ann Blow's siblings.
James H Kemp married Blanch Mann in Carroll County Mississippi. His aunt married Judge Mann. Were Blanch and Judge Mann related??
James first wife was Lillian Barnett. Was she related to your Clementine/Richard Barnett??
