Starting researching in 1990, after coming from Europe for years. Been researching my father and mothers side of the family over 25 for years for health/medical reasons. I have found, a lot of heart related issues, some cancer on father;s side. Brights disease/kidney issues, heart, and cancer on my mother's side. A few odd turns and twits have popped up, but not completely unexplainable..such as Lupus, Anemia, and Pituitary Gland issues. SO..anyone who is searching the Moore, Nichols, Rion, Beaty, Wheaton, Wheeler, Williams, Carpenter family lines among many others this is helpful. As for the Hunter, Arnold/Beamer, Penny, Palmeter, Hopping, Reed, Marchant/Merchant side..things nothing really out of the ordinary medically..other than to much inner marriage going on.

Sorry, but I don't have any further info--someone else sent that obit for me to post. It may have been Carol and Doug Eastway, as they do seem to flower most of the memorials they send info for. You might check with them.

Purdy Family Memorial # 134524550
JAMES DELANCEY8 PURDY (HENRY7, GABRIEL T.6, SAMUEL5, SAMUEL4, JOSEPH3, FRANCIS2, JOHN1) was born 08 May 1816 in Westchester, Cumberland County, Nova Scotia, and died 03 Aug 1873 in Westchester, Cumberland County, Nova Scotia. He married HANNAH MCKIM 30 Jun 1840. She was born Abt. 1818, and died 29 Dec 1891 in Westchester, Cumberland County, Nova Scotia.
Notes for HANNAH McKIM: Hanna and James Purdy were buried in the Purdy Cemetery at Westchester Station.

Notes for JAMES DELANCEY PURDY: After Thomas Ralston, son of Lavinia Purdy, died, his son Burnett W. Ralston was brought up in his (James) home. Burnett W. James Layton and my father, Carl Calnic Webb were 1st cousins and I have correspondence from James and Carl.

James Delancey Purdy served as a Deacon in the community Baptist Church in Westchester. He was granted the contract to build the 1st Presbyterian Church in Middlehope on June, 1859.

There being no stores in Westchester, at the time, James had been known to travel over the mountain to Halifax for special supplies and equipment. The roads, if any, were in terrible shape so the trip with horses and wagons would take several days.

Elisha Kimball
I just happened upon a burial of Lindach5's and was reviewing here profile and noticed the names Elisha & Hope in a message. I am related to the pair. And yes Elisha is a male. It was a fairly popular male name in his time period, altho like you I can't imagine naming a male child that today either. I guess it's sort of like Beverly, Shirley, Vivian, and Gayle - all male names.

RE: Can you give me memorial numbers
Thank you! I deleted middle name on the memorial. Are they your direct line family?

Can you give me memorial numbers
I need the number(s) so I can check. I Don't know them off the top of my head so can't comment.

It's a good idea to add that info (memorial number) when contacting people on Find A Grave. Most have a lot of people and it's much more likely you will get a helpful response.

They have a place on memorials you can send a correction to the person who has the memorial. Saves time if you do it that way. The number is needed to do any changes.

I hope to hear from you soon, and welcome to Find A Grave!

RE: Hope Capron Question
I will check, but I do think that Hope is female and Elisha is male. I'm away on vacation and will check in a week or two. Linda
