Welcome
Katrina, Welcome to Find a Grave. Hope you enjoy meeting friend s and kin here as I have done. I too am a Penny. We could be kin too if not distant cousins. We still are kin. Just weird saying once removed or five times removed kin is kin as far as I am concerned. Doug Micah Vail is who she is talking about. Respectfully ruby1947odell1979a1@yahoo.com 47230178

RE: Killie Penny McLaughlin
Hi Katrina,
I don't recall if I answered this or not. I have been really busy lately moving across the state and haven't had much free time.
Killie was my 1st cousin 1x removed, I think. She was the daughter of my grandfather's brother.
I have also been in touch with another one of her relatives. His name is Douglas, but his last name escapes me at the moment. You may have seen his name in the process of your family hunt. If I can help you let me know and I'll try. I'm not an expert at this, but I have gotten better over the last several years. Lol!
Do you have an Ancestry or Geni account? That is how I learned about people in my family that I had never heard of. At first I was skeptical about it, but after a while I realized that the vast majority of it is true, even though I'd never have imagined it. The most difficult to digest was all of the British royalty behind the Penny family. Unbelievable!
Nice to meet you,
Sharon

Hi, I think we are related, if you are related to Killie Penny McLaughlin. My grandfather was Asbury Joseph Penny and one of his brothers (I think it was Louis or Lewis)is in the line you are referring to...I think. Lol!
I don't mind you leaving a message for me at all. It might take a while for me to see it though.I spend a lot of time on Find A Grave and Ancestry. I have met a lot of people, whom I've never met, who are related through the Penny side of my family.
I really like doing/using Find A Grave. It really adds to a pedigree, making them a person, instead of just a name.
But, lately I have been really busy getting our house ready to sell. My hubs retired a few weeks ago and he is standing on his head to move to the Gulf coast. We worked our fingers to the bone on it, updating and fixing it up, and finally got our house on the market. We already have several offers for it, so it may not be long before we are on our way. Lol! I may be taking photos at the cemeteries in the Houston area, if they aren't already all done. My husband is kind of squeamish about cemeteries but he's going to have to get used to it. Lol!
