Several years ago my daughter started researching our family and managed to take us to the Alton's in Ireland. Through a cousin of my husband we were given a printed version of much of the family. With a request from a relative about family I discovered "Find a grave" so am attempting to add information to find a grave while filling in information that is not yet there.
My husband's great-great grandmother was Agnes Alton who came from Ireland in 1847

RE: Emma Hunt
Argh. I didn't even notice that the dates didn't match up. They're in the same section even. If you are related to an Alice Hunt, I found her in the same section and created a memorial. I created a memorial for the Emma Hunt whose headstone I photographed and removed the photo from your Emma Hunt.

Sorry about that.

RE: Eliza and Samuel Phillips
Not sure yet. I have about 50% done but it will likely take a while to do them all. Once done I will review the pictures that I have that are not noted in F-A-G. If you find out where Russell is buried let me know - it can't be far from Lucknow so once in the car.....

RE: Eliza and Samuel Phillips
No problem. My mother still lives in Lucknow (99) so get up there but infrequently. I'm on the mission to photograph the entire cemetery. I have pictures of some that are not in Find a Grave and I'm not sure what I will do with them.
Yours were done yesterday and it was raining so the pictures are not ideal.

photo request for Ocean View
Ocean View Burial Park, owned by Diginity Memorial, is a privately owned cemetery. Dignity Memorial will not give information to a third party, you must be a relative. They feel that they could be sued for release of private information. I have the email to prove this!!!!!
If you contact their office (through email) and request their location I would take a photo for you. They would be willing to do a lookup if the request came from a family member. If you cannot figure out your connection, say you are a cousin.
Once you have the location just enter it into the memorial page and it will show on the photo request.
Thank you,

I hope you will add the names of Caroline's parents to her memorial.

Sorry about the blank message. Hit the wrong button!
I found your Caroline Cranston Alton. She was a daughter of Robert Cranston born Ireland ca1825 and Rosamond Cranston b. England ca1824. Could not find her maiden name after much digging. She died in Turnberry, Huron County on Jan. 26, 1885.
It appears that Robert quickly married on May 29, 1885 to Catherine (Creighton) Sterling and again on Sept. 17,1890 in Wingham to Ellen (Fletcher) Adams.
It appears to be the same Robert although I could be wrong. His parents were named as Robert and Mary Elizabeth Cranston. He appears in Goodland, Manitoba, in 80s, on 1906 census living with son.
There was no Robert Cranston listed in either MB or SK death records, so don't know where he died. Maybe the death wasn't registered. The son above died in Goodland in 1917.
Caroline's siblings included Ebenezer, John, Lucy J., Mary E. (married William George Cooper) and Robert J. (from 1961 census). Hope this helps you.
I believe that your Robert and mine are first cousins at best. Obviously one was born in Ireland and the other in Ontario.

Caroline Cranston Alton
It is my belief that Caroline is likely a sister to Robert Cranston due to closeness of age. Will do some more digging when I have time to see if I can find a definite link.
