I am very interested in genealogy. I got into researching shortly after my grandmother, Frances Elizabeth Vines McCraw, passed away. I wanted to know everything I could about her life. The stories I was too young to remember. I want to be able to pass my family history down. I take my hobby very seriously and I'm always looking for new information. Feel free to email me with questions or information on the McCraw, Cowen/Cowan, Vines of Jefferson county, Alabama or Robbins, Fitzhugh, Craig, Coward of rankin county, Mississippi. Searching for indian relations as well.|

Me again.... I just noticed that Andrew Kersh's son is buried in
That is a very unusual coincidence that the son is buried in Shiloh Cemetery, MS and the father supposedly in Shiloh Cemetery, SC.
I'd take a look in the MS Shiloh Cemetery as the war record might have listed the wrong state for burial...
Hi: I was at Shiloh Cemetery in Bowman, SC today and looked for the grave of Andrew Kersh. I was unable to find it, or any graves with that surname. I also have a book Orangeburg County Cemeteries from August 2002 when a county wide cemetery mapping and transcription project took place. Shiloh Cemetery is listed with 257 burials, however no one named Kersh is listed in the burials list. I see where you got the burial info and that should be accurate, but so far striking out on two counts.
I'll be going back at some point, but probably not until fall as it is just too darn hot to spend quality time searching right now. Perhaps I can locate something based on looking for other burials during the same time period as often they did burials by section as cemeteries matured. I'll keep looking but I can't help but wonder if a mistake may have been made in recording his burial location in the war records. The cemetery reference book does not list anyone named Kersh buried in any of the cemeteries in the Bowman, Branchville and Rowesville areas of Orangeburg County, South Carolina. It seems a bit of a mystery, eh?

Thank you for the information. Another contributor had created a memorial for her husband, so I linked her memorial to his as well as to her parents' memorials.

Hello, I found a Find A Grave memorial that may be of help to you
Happy hunting, GCD
|Moriana L.||Wiley Robbins|
Unfortunately, I am unable to link Wiley Robbins to his family, as I didn't create his memorial. Send a request to Mimosa (#46875181)to attach him to his parents. Once that has been completed, he will automatically be linked to his brother, Dempsey Robbins.
