Transfer of Mosby and Bleeka Sowers
I just sent the couple your way, take good care of them. If I find out anything else, I'll send you updates, right now I'm fishing off another pier.

Sowers' Memorials
Sorry for the mix up. If you submitted Marvin G, Roy T & Perry them last week I did not receive them. There were two requests for Martha Bower; one was intended for Francis M which I found. I believe I have now transferred them all. Let me know if I missed any.

Zion Cemetery, Floyd County
I went to Zion cemetery today. I rechecked the area around George Sowers. The stone next to his belongs to Sarah Spangler 1800-1835. There are quite a few field stones, as well. As for Anna Elizabeth Epperly Sowers & Elizabeth Spangler Sowers, I still found no stone for either.
I will email you a few pics from here and also the stones behind the Bowers in St. Matthews that you had mentioned in our previous emails.
Sorry there isn't an answer in Zion cemetery. The old section is a complete puzzle. There are so many of the same names and many differences in the info on the memorials and the info on the stones.
If I can be of any further help, let me know.

Zion Lutheran Church and Cemetery
Zion Lutheran is very close to town of Floyd on northeast side. Head east out of town on route 221 for about a half mile and turn left on route 615, Christiansburg Pike. After about a half mile, turn left on route 693, Needmore Lane NE. Zion church is a small white frame building right there on right side. Cemetery is a short way out a gravel road on left side behind the church. Newer section is straight ahead and older part is up hill to the right. If you follow those directions it's easy to find and easy pull up on google maps.

St Matthews Cemetery
Looks like JohnF has done a good job of answering your question. You can also get there from Rt 615 which runs from Pilot to Floyd. A couple of miles south of Pilot, take right onto Dobbins Hollow Rd, Rt 677 at that point. It runs into Rt 617 after about two miles and the cemetery is on the left, just east of intersection with Rt 616.

RE: St. Matthew Cemetery
It is a ways off the main road way out in the countryside. Best way to locate it is to bring up the area on Google Maps and follow along using the satellite view. Here are the directions.

Start at the intersection of Virginia Route 8 and Interstate-81 in Christiansburg.

Follow Rt. 8 south until you reach the small town of Riner.

Just south of the high school look left (East) for the intersection of Rt. 616, (Rustic Ridge Rd.), Keep following 616 east, it eventually bears right to form Dobbins Hollow Road, still 616.

It winds & twists but keep following Rt. 616. It will eventually merge with Rt. 617, still Dobbins Hollow Rd. A short distance along you will see the small church and the cemetery on the right. It is clearly visible on Google maps, close-in, using satellite view. Regards -JohnF
