There is much information out there about Ouray. From what I have read recently his remains were moved twice against Native American traditions, but more for western beliefs as to what is deemed a ceremonious burial.
I believed in peace, but continually struggled with those who did not follow the agreement of whatever treaty was made.
Dear Nancy, Thank you for searching the cemetary for Alvin's gravesite, stone. His mother recently passed and her name was Jessie Root House. More than likely he's laid to rest near her, but since you located no headstone, he probably does not have a headstone. I appreciate you going out there, taking your time and effort, very much so.
I never got to meet Alvin...we were penpals for years, a friend to me. Again, thank you.
