Exploring the family tree has been quite an undertaking. And it has gone places I never imagined it might. It is amazing to find your ancestors have made all kinds of contributions to our land. And it is fascinating. And for me this has been a long exploration. Began with the microfilm being ordered into the library and other research on the old computer from various Historical Societies. |
The amazing thing on the Findagrave site is the numbers of explorers who find their way to enter so many headstones.
Like the census transcriptions on occasion there were headstone errors too I found dates on 2 relatives who died as children which were identical though they were not born the same year or date. Problem was headstones were done at the same time. Its a bit of a fuss to redo. So never happened.
And a big Thank You to all who have assisted and some of the responses have been so dear. Heart warming and gracious.

I used to live in Reno and became good friend with a Joan and Harry Drackert who owned a Native American shop on Virginia St. Are these the same Joan and Harry on the memorials you manage? If so, are you related to them and how?
I think of them both so often...

I found Caleb from the LDS tree assuming it was correct. I see what you are talking about, census & SC Death Cert both have initial L. I have since changed to L. and I corrected the record on LDS tree and put Caleb as an alterate on LDS. I never found any sources for Caleb either. Thanks for the correction. This is not my Pitts line.
Can you tell me how Grandpa Daniel had a middle name of Caleb... never seen that anywhere. And I was not aware. His death certificate used the Initial L which I have seen elsewhere. Please advise when You can. Thanks

|Barbara R||Wilhelmina Prueher Richtmyer|
I see that in the bio of Wilhelmina Prueher Richtmyer she had a diary? Is this available to view online somewhere? I am a descendant of Eleanor (Zwiefelhofer) Barthen who was Maria (Zwiefelhofer) Mueller Prueher's sister. Researching the Zweifelhofer family, and Eleanor's husband Conrad Barthen who was a cigar maker in Chippewa Falls. Hoping there was some mention of them in her diary. They would be her aunt and uncle.

we are cousins through the Long's. I was wondering if you would if I add the picture of your grandmother, Mary Ella Frances Long McCurry to my family tree on Ancestry.com. My tree is a private tree. I would just like to have her picture on there. I would of course give you credit for taking the picture.
I descend from Laura Caroline Long, the sister of Harrison Pickmey Long. But that is how we relate. But we are family!
Thank you for the update! This is great, I'm so glad you have done it.
So glad you claimed them :) that cemetery is in terrible shape :(
Kind regards, Karen
