Ancestry is linked to rootsweb, via gateways.

Can go there to search names, and then some have adequate data that then links to vital records, birth, death, marriage, or other microfilmed records by the LDS church in the past.

Thank you for your generous offer. I'll keep it on file in case I come up with any questions in the future.

Can you provide a source for his nickname being Francis. I haven't found any evidence for his nickname.

RE: Clara and Viola Stike

Congrats to your son! I got hooked on genealogy when I was in high school, and it's been a life-long labor of love. I hope your son enjoys it as much as I do.

RE: Clara and Viola Stike

Glad to see you're still working on solving this mystery!

So the Clara and Viola are buried next to each other in Cape? Have you come up with the name of the cemetery yet?

RE: James Paul Mills (Son)
Go to the son's memorial, do a "suggestion a correction" with a link to father's memorial.

RE: John Andrew Stike Child updates
Thanks for the up-date.

I'm glad to see that the owner of Welden Stike has now linked her to her parents. I wrote and asked for that to be done a few weeks ago.

It's not that unusual to see people listed as female on one census and male on another, especially those with unusual first names. I have a distant cousin who only appeared on the census twice that we can find. One time listed as a son, the other as a daughter.

RE: update for Stike sisters
I have friends buried at St. Mary's Cemetery in Cape Girardeau. That's a big Catholic cemetery and might be a place to check if you ever make a trip down that way.
