RE: Obedience Roscoe Bounds
This info was sent to me by James Rasco in 2006. I found him through a Rootsweb mailing list. He was a hardcore Roscoe/Rascoe researcher. (I guess he's still alive. I haven't been in contact with him since then.)

Here it goes:

* He believed, from the little documented information that he had, that the wife of Purrington Roscoe/Rascoe was Virginia Willis, born 1810 and died between 1843 and 1850. He said Virginia's mother's name was Louisa.

* He said that Purrington was born between 1802 and 1806 and that he was probably the son of Alexander Rascoe. He said that this Alexander first appeared in the 1800 census for Marlboro County, S.C. but did not appear in the 1830 census. A Rachel Rascoe appeared in the 1830 census instead. It was possible that this was Purrington's mother, but she was a good bit older than Alexander. (I'm already confused. How about you?) :D

* Children of Purrington, (per James Rascoe's research):

** James Rascoe, born about 1827 and died about 1860. Married Ann Thomas.

** Bidy (Obedience) Rascoe, born 1828 and died 1884. Married James S. Bounds.

** Mary Ann Rascoe, born around 1829 to 1830. Married a Mr. English.

** Lucretia Rascoe, born about 1831, died before 1866. Married Joseph S. Thomas.

** William L. Rascoe, born about 1835, died July 31, 1864 in Virginia. Married Mary Ann _______(?).

** Alexander H. Rascoe, born about October 1837, died after 1910. Married three times: 1) Parky McCall; 2) Elizabeth ______(?); and 3) Sarah A. Gibson.

** Jane Rascoe, born around 1841. Married a John or Robert Bristow.

** Daniel Rascoe, born around 1843, died August 9, 1861 in Virginia.

I've going on just his say so. I'd like to be able to research it myself sometime.

Hope this helps.

Hi! I'm going to look through my papers later tonight and come back with an answer for you. I'm pretty sure though that it came from a hardcore Roscoe/Rascoe researcher on a Rootsweb mailing list about 8 or 9 years ago. :D
