I've worked on and off my family history for more than 30 years and I think it's vital to preserve family knowledge for all those that follow. As years slip by the passage of time can erase precious memories. Even small details about someone become meaningful and important. So it's crucial to document all aspects of lives. |
I'm happy to participate in this wonderful project. It's been a most rewarding as well as a learning experience on many levels. I am grateful for corrections and suggestions. And if someone else has info that I don't have, I welcome it--especially family and individual photos. Sharing knowledge is the key to making memorials the best they can be.
I'll gladly include personal material or make valid changes on any memorial I manage. And I am happy to transfer memorials to family members per FAG guidelines (siblings, parents, grandparents and great-grandparents only). However, please make sure any edits you submit to me are based on primary sources and not pulled from genealogy websites with second-hand information. Too often these sites are filled with incorrect data.
One of my main interests lies in researching family who served in the Civil War. If any you also happen to share that interest, and are looking to partner up with someone, please feel free to contact me. I'd love to work with someone who also wants to see our men located and properly memorialized.
Wishing you all successful searching.
*Note: I'm happy to share my work--photos, documents, and biographies. But please ask me beforehand. More than likely, I'll be glad to grant permission.

Hello Rock Hunter,
First off, let me say THANK YOU! I have been hoping to find my father's family for a VERY long time. I just happened to come across one of your posts, one for John C. Calder I am 90% sure that this is my Great Grandfather. He was married to Anna Eliza or Adaline Driggers and Effie Ellen Paul McRae, as near as I can find thus far. My Grandmother was Ella Jane Caulder, married to George Washington Wilkerson. She is buried at McLucas' Cemetery as well. If you have any information on these people, I would GREATLY appreciate ANY help! Thank You for the work that you do!

I would like to pick up your photo request but Sparkman Hillcrest (SH) does not like to provide burial locations to volunteers, citing privacy issues. Your cooperation is needed in order for requests to be filled. The volunteers will need you to call SH and request the location. Their phone number is 214-363-5401. Once you have the location, please add it to your request. Thanks.

Below is the original (read prior) biopage for the above soldier/Southern Patriot.
Since you are a direct descendant, would you please merge/blend my extra info into your biopage, correct the burial details and then let me know you are done? I can then delete mine.
I've already added his grave marker photo.
