Bio and Links
Bio Photo I have been working on my husband's and my family trees off and on for almost 34 years. I have lost a lot of information due to blown up computers etc. and not having back up. Thanks to Find a Grave and ancestry, I am recreating what I once had plus gaining more information. I have found a lot of mistakes people have made when copying old tombstones. I am trying to fix those mistakes when I find them. I want to help others find their ancestors also. If you feel I have made a mistake on a memorial I created don't hesitate to let me know.

Carnes Cemetery, Whiteville, TN
Do you have better directions to the Carnes Cemetery? My car navigation sends me to the Brownsville, TN area instead of Whiteville. Google takes me to where I think it might be but we can't find. We walked up and down amongst the trees & vines & bushes for about 1 half mile on both sides of the road. Is there any way you could give me another way to find it? I live in San Diego, CA & have been here in Whiteville 3 times trying to find it. Thank you in advance for your help.

Glenda, Thanks so much for the work you have done and are doing in preserving the history of our family! We stone for our mutual ancestress, Martha "Patsy" Reynolds Godwin, looks great. I''m glad that you and your family are nearby and taking care of her physical memorial and her Find-a-Grave memorial.

Re: Darla Randolph Payne
Surname has been corrected. Tried sending you an E-mail, but it failed. Thanks for the helping hand.

Glenda, thanks for your timely responses. I have, indeed, found a large number of duplicates - both individuals and cemeteries.

Duplicate cemeteries can be tough to sort out if you aren't able to physically visit them. Locals seldom seem to be much help.

Individual duplications are often made by people who jump on Findagrave for a short time, create duplicate memorials, and then never come back to see if they have messages. Very frustrating.

Thanks very much for your help!

You posted a headstone photo to Eugene Murphy's memorial no. 39863065 in Bethany Cemetery, Whiteville, Hardeman, Tennessee, USA. There is a duplicate memorial for the same Eugene Murphy in Antioch Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, Whiteville, Hardeman, Tennessee, USA. I have been informed that Eugene was buried in Antioch rather than Bethany. The confusion seems to have occurred because the two cemeteries are immediately adjacent and the boundaries may not be clear. Could you please post the same headstone photo to memorial no. 117641023 while I try to get the confusion sorted out?

Thank you Glenda!! Otto died too young. The little girl in his arms in the family photo died only months ahead of her father. You have helped to complete his memorial page.
