|Lila J Hess||RE: Elijah Stout|
I was very hopeful this my Great Grandfather Eli who was born in Amwell, Hunterdon (now Mercer), New Jersey about 1770 and died in Owen County, Ky about 1845, but having checked out Elijah and hoping that a 2nd marriage might have been the answer, I find that although we are related to the original Richard and Penelope Stout, my ancestor was John, son of James not Joseph. However, I found the Wilson-Widel Family Tree mdwidel that probably has the answer to who your cemetery belongs to. HOWEVER, THE TREE SAYS THAT THE PATRIARCH WAS ELIJAH SR. 1743-1837 AND WIFE MARTHA MATTHEWS 1743- ? William M. and I suppose his wife Emily (though there was no wife shown in the tree), Susanne was the daughter of Claggett T. 1804-1879 and his wife was shown as Mary Utterback. Another son, John F. 1800 - ?is shown with wife Eliza Carpenter. Also another son EliJa Stout III 1805-1855 is shown with wife Nancy Rice, A daughter Susanna 1805 - ? with no other info, A son Milton G. 1807-1849 with wife Susan Utterback and David P. 1814-1875 but no wife.
It shows ELIJAH JR. 1771-1846 AND Wife ELIZABETH TURNHAM with NO CHILDREN - so who was Elijah SR ??
Another tree was Elijah's father was a Joseph ??
Sorry, wish I could connect SOME ELIJAH to my tree, but this is why I have been doing this for so many years. If you would like to contact me by e-mail directly firstname.lastname@example.org
Still would be curious to see the pictures.
