I am the gr-grandson of Frank M. Cameron and Hattie Babcock Cameron who lived in Silver Lake PA. I have always been interested in my ancestral roots and have found that I also enjoy the challenge of doing the investigative work of tracing ones family. By luck(I saw a picture of my gr-gr-grandmother on this site and I have the same picture)I found a cousin that I never knew I had and he also has the passion for tracing his genealogy and was able to supply me with more information than I ever could have hoped for or found for myself about my gr-grandmother's family. I know what it is to hit roadblocks, I'm having problems connecting relatives on the Cameron side of my family. Because of others volunteering, I have been able to see things that I might have otherwise been un-able to see or find and the only way I can think of re-paying their efforts is by volunteering myself|

I noticed that you've attempted to find markers at either one or both of the State Hospital cemeteries without any luck. Assuming that you know that there are 2 cemeteries, the original and the one that contains the graves relocated when the state put in Highway.
To gain legal acccess to either one, simply call the facilities dept at 607-773-4554. the manager of the department will arrange to escort you to the site(s).
The facilities Department also has a plot plan that is the only way you can hope to find anything in either of the two fields. I did this several years ago looking for one of my long-lost relatives and they were extremely accomodating.
Another resource is a man by the name of Roger Luther and he has a site with tons of info. http://nysasylum.com/bia.htm

Hi Michael .. Thank you for the picture of his stone. I thought you might want to know the picture appears to be sideways and needs to be rotated. If you need help with that let me know.

Not sure what I am looking at, but I appreciate your time looking for his headstone. Thank you.

Thank you so much for trying to locate Arthur's tombstone for me. He may not have had any relatives to supply one for him, just never know the why's.
Thanks for your help!
Have a wonderful week!
Thanks so much for your time and effort in the search for my GG Granduncle's grave. I was afraid that he was buried by the state with no records. How sad it is that we can not honor their final resting place! Best Regards, Mike
