Bio and Links
Bio Photo I live in Lyndon, Kansas and have worked as a teacher and coach for the last 16years. My job is so rewarding and my students are a big part of who I am. I am married and my husband and I have one son who keeps us very busy. I love leaning about family history and started researching all sides of my family about four years ago. I wish that I would have started much earlier as many family members with information are now gone.
I have been learning more about my connections to the following surnames: Ruebke, Opitz, Lentz, ( from the Illinois and Kansas areas) and the Vanderpool, Priest, Holman, Beaver and Hilburn ( from the Tennessee, Arkansas and Missouri areas.). Find a grave has helped me so much in making family connections.

I have some memorials with no burial information. I am hoping that some day that someone looking for family will be able to help with the mysteries.

William Ruebke
I am a great granddaughter of Mary Foth, seen in the picture with William. Her daughter Frieda Koch Ruebke was my grandma. Frieda's daughter Opal Koch Smalley was my mother. Do you have any history of Fritz Ruebke? He was a nephew of Mary Foth but I can't connect who his parents were. He married Frieda Koch after her 1st husband, Karl Koch (my grandpa) died.

It's my pleasure! It gave me the perfect excuse to go visit my roots! My great-grandparents (paternal), a set of maternal g-g-grandparents, many cousins and several siblings of my grandparents on BOTH sides of the family. It's a really peaceful and pretty church and cemetery and I've always liked I there - and my home church shared a pastor with them for about twenty years so its kinda like home, too:) Hope you have a great Easter with many blessings. Taking the pictures and keying in the information was actually a lot of fun. It was my way of saying thanks to the people that have done the same for my ancestors. Thanks for letting me know it is getting looked at and used!

Shenandoah Old Cemetery
Noticed you are the owner of two 18th century burials in the Shenandoah Old Cemetery on Find-A-Grave. Was that possibly an iron workers cemetery since the Shenandoah Iron Works name was used up to 1884 when it was incorporated? My cousin, Harry Glenn, who lives near Shenandoah, Page County, is descended from Joseph Arthur Glenn who was an iron worker (collier) who died in 1876 and since we can’t locate his interment, was wondering if he might be there. Was there any record of burials that you used to locate your ancestor? Any help/direction would be greatly appreciated.

Just as soon as this snow goes away and the ground is a little drier! Just got our first real snow of the winter last night/this morning! Yay!!! My plans are to photograph the entire St John's cemetery (both the "old" and "new" sections) - so far I've just gone through and took pics of MY family - time to help everyone else out now! Have a wonderful day. Blessings, Steph
