I love to research and link families together. I have one 6 month old granddaughter and a 6 year old granddaughter I want them to know their heritage when they grow up and I hope they continue with what I have started.|

|AWPlemmonsSr.||RE: William Tandy Tompkins|
Don't want to inconvenience you, but my wife wanted me to ask if you would place Confederate flag on his grave for her. I will be more than happy to purchase a flag and send it to you or reimburse you.
Just tried to email you and it came back with an error, please send me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org so I have your address.
|Dianna Taylor||RE: Mary Durham and Henry Durham|
Your welcome for the info, I'm happy to share.
Mary's parents were:
JOHN WESLEY DICKENSON 1848-1884
in the 1870 census he was listed as John B Dickenson, don't know why but everyone seemed to run with it, I have proved he was John Wesley.
ELIZABETH "BETTY" BLANTON 1849-?
I would love to find her date of death and their burial place.
JOHN WESLEY DICKENSON 1826-1864
John died at Camp Douglas,Chicago as a prisoner of war.
SARAH "SALLY" GILLEY 1830-?
I have that she married James Dykes Stidham in 1885 but can't find death record, would also love to find her burial place.
BTW, my great grandfather (Mary's brother) was
JOHN WESLEY DICKENSON III
If you would like I can send you an invite to my ancestry tree, I have lot's more info, photos and documents. I'll try to email the marriage record,my computer skills are lacking so no promises, if it doesn't work you can pick it up from my tree.

I really enjoy working with you on our family genealogy. We just moved into a new home that we built at the end of February and my wife is due with our first (a boy) next Friday. This has kept me away from genealogical research for the past couple of months. I greatly appreciate the research you are doing locally near Big Stone Gap.
I did try to go up the dirt driveway that runs up to the old 2 story house where one of the Gilley Cemeteries is located. There was an old man standing at the top of the hill staring down at us scowling and looking very unfriendly, so my wife and I decided not to go up to the cemetery.
I think there are actually 2-3 different Gilley Cemeteries in the area. I have GPS coordinates for them all, but did not have time to visit them when we were there several years ago.
Do you have an account on ancestry.com? If so, I can give you access to my tree.
Thanks for all your help!
|Dianna Taylor||RE: Rebecca Shupe Dickenson|
So we are cousins :)
Mary Dickenson was my great grand Aunt.
I have a copy of Mary & Henry's marriage record.
I noticed you did not list her parents on her memorial, do you have that information?
Do you know about the edit tab on your profile page? I have sent some additional info for some of your memorials, if you already know all this just let me know, I just figured since I have the info on my ancestry tree I would share it but don't wish to step on toes.
You have a real advantage over me, all my information has come from the internet or the Wise County Historical Society.
I was born in California and now live in Arizona.
|Dianna Taylor||Rebecca Shupe Dickenson|
Good Morning Regina, I linked Rebecca's parents, can't believe I had not done this, she's my great grandmother.
I guess question 1 is are there 2 different Gilly/Gilley cemeteries in Wise County?
in the cemetery list there is the one you are photographing "Gilly", under "Gilley" there are 3 listed one has no interments, one has 1 interment and one has a bunch (can't remember how many) anyway there is no location listed on any of the "Gilley" cemeteries.
if they are 2 different cemeteries we need to determine who's buried where. and have the owners of memorials correct the cemetery. I noticed that you have a photo/memorial for Sally & James Chandler, Sally is Sally Shupe daughter of James Monroe Shupe and Martha Griffin Shupe and cousin Mark Browning has a memorial for her and James at the Gilley cemetery
