RE: Incorrect Information
I went back through some of my notes concerning the Sturtevant Stones. It was a William Gardner at the funeral home I spoke too back in 2006/07, and even to this day nothing has been done to repair the grave of William P. Sturtevant, great great grandfather to the William Gardner who is President of the funeral home now.

Have you been out to Oak Grove, and looked at the grave, you can see way down into the hole, the ground all around it has eroded and I would be surprise if the concrete slab has not caved in yet.

So, after looking at a Sturtevant Tree, it's seems that the William Gardner (now President of the Sturtevant Funeral) is a great grandson of the founder Charles H. Sturtevant & great-great grandson of the William P. Sturtevant who's grave is in horrible shape.

Now that you're aware of the situation & condition of William's grave maybe you can get someone out there and fix it. He still deserves respect even after death...

RE: Incorrect Information
Also, what Oak Grove site has incorrect info on it ? I will go check it out and correct the info, but remember this between the 1920's thru the 70's there were some Sturtevents disinterred from Oak Grove and reinterred elsewhere, but original information is still listed in the cemetery books.

RE: Incorrect Information
In 2007 I personally went into the Sturtevent Funeral Home on Portsmouth Blvd. & spoke with a "Mr. Gardner" who said that he was the grandson/great grandson of the Mary E. "Sturtevent" Gardner that was buried in the Olive Branch cemetery. To me, it doesn't & didn't matter where he connected into the Sturtevent Line, what mattered to me was to bring their attention to the condition of the grave of William P. Sturtevent (1822-1898)& others in the same plot at Oak Grove Cemetery. So, if you believe the info to be incorrect, please send me the correct info. and I will be happy to change or delete it.
