RE: Grandfather
Thanks. (I checked the memorials and there isn't a message, but I see that you are new to Find A Grave so maybe I can help you get started.

First if you want to add data to a memorial you will want to use the 'edit' tab on each memorial. Clicking that takes you to a screen that lets you choose a category of information you want to make a suggestion about. Do that, and fill in the data you are suggesting and send the message. It automatically goes to the person who manages the memorial as suggested edits, and they can review and then accept or decline the edits.

If you want to ask the current manager to transfer the memorial to your keeping, you'll use the edit tab, and instead of choosing one of the data fields, chose "Suggest any other correction or addition" and you'll get an e-mail form. In the body make your request for a transfer, giving your Find A Grave number and stating you relationship to the person you are asking for. (Find A Grave has some suggestions about who you should ask a transfer for - basically immediate family of brothers, sisters, parents, and grandparents, and I think ggrandparents. Some Find A Grave people will transfer anyone, some are very much 'by the book' rule, but it doesn't hurt to ask. Either way, you should give the manager about a month to get back before you start to get irritated! It's usually pretty smooth and most people I know are very willing to make transfers of any that aren't related to them.

I'm happy to transfer your grandparents to you. Good luck as you find other relatives and maybe add some memorials yourself!

RE: Grandfather
Hi Megan,

Can you tell me who you are referring to? (It's easiest if you make a request through the actual Find A Grave memorial page, but either way let me know the name of the person you are wanting a transfer for.

Megan, I would be glad to transfer your grandfather. You need to go to your grandfathers memorial and do the edit tab. the message will come straight to me, since you left me no name to go by or what cemetery. Doing it this way will take me there. just add your number.
