fred perkins Sorry i haven't gotten back to you before now....I kind of got away form this when my dad died...it was just not the right time, but now I'm dipping back into the genealogy again.
I'm not positive I have the correct Fred Perkins, or what the whole story is about him and my GGmom. But this one seems to have better connections to places and times than any other I chased/researched. I only have a few clues from things my mom said or my aunt, or bits and pieces of times and places. I know from what Gma,(Grandma was very small when gred and GGma split) told my mom, that mom thinks it was something about him being abusive but my aunt didn't think it was physically because my great grandmother was small and frightful. And my mom remembers someone contacting my grandma about his death, my mom gave a time frame of about when he died, but it spanned several years. She wasn't positive when it was, other than she knows she was an adult but she couldn't remember if she was in high school or a young mother. However what I learned about this Fred I was researching is he worked as a train mechanic which is how they got out west from Lincoln, NE. SO then he at a later age became a bartender(with another new wife) in WY area so maybe he drank and became verbally abusive when under the influence???. maybe not? My grandmother also told my aunt that she had had a baby sister but that she died as a baby in Wyoming. Gma told my aunt that her sister was considered a "blue" baby (I'm assuming heart trouble, my Gma and GGma died of that) I found a grave in that WY area where they lived for a baby/toddler but I haven't written WY to get a copy of the birth certificate. There was a Fred Perkins with wife correct age on the WY census when and where my grandmother and GGmom had lived. Fred & his brother both worked the railroad in the city they lived in, in WY. My mom said she only remembers my grandmother mentioning seeing him once maybe in grade school, that she never really ever saw him, my great grandmother kept moving her from place to place when he caught up with them, until my great grandmother married Charlie. My grandmother was a small red head. Was any of the Perkins'? It could have come from my great grandmothers side too, she was a Mackey from IA. And Yes I'd like to see any pictures too, see if there's any resemblence?. SO I think this Fred I found in CO could be him, if i did my research right Fred's father, if i remember correctly too is buried in CA... hopefully this is somewhat coherent, I kep adding and cutting in imbetween work things.......talk to you later
