Preserving family memories has long been an interest of mine - hence all the scrapbook supplies. But now I'm taking it to the next level and researching the family members that I didn't get a chance to meet.

I'm especially interested in the Brown, Hatcher, Hays/Hayes,Jackson, Low/Lowe and Pitts lines from Alabama and Texas - well, all over the South really. I'm also working on the Yarbrough pioneers who came to Oregon in a covered wagon in 1845. There's got to be a story there.

I've created a few memorials for family members and have obtained others via transfers. Thank you to those people who transferred, especially those of you who were more interested in helping me connect family than adhering to the FAG guidelines. My goal is to get my family members all correctly linked so that no one's lost or forgotten, and that when the next generation takes over, the hard work is done. Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have questions, see a mistake, or something I've overlooked.

Finally, many of the memorials I'm managing are members of my extended family that I noticed needed some work. Thank you again to the volunteers who are more interested in connecting families than collecting numbers. While I really enjoy doing the work and making the connections, I'm more than happy to transfer them to an interested family member. It's nice to meet you.

RE: Hello
Hello ~~ Good to hear from you! Yes, if you are related to Clara, we would be distant cousins, so its nice to get to know you! I have three other siblings for Clara listed on my tree on Ancestry that aren't mentioned in your memorial:

Florence Bratt 1854 1895
Flora Bratt 1863 ?
Alice Bratt 1864 1953

I've never searched for their burials on Find A Grave, so don't know if they're buried in Siskiyou County or not. Also, Clara's father's name was Delos Delano Bratt (1832-1883), who was lost while hunting in the mountains near Beaver Creek and perished, his remains were found by son Marshall the following spring. (Interesting family history tidbit, there).

Hello
I am inquiring about the memorial to Clara Bratt Doggett (Find A Grave Memorial# 83627705). Would it be possible for you to put a link to her sister, Grace Bratt Doolittle, in her siblings list? Grace was my paternal Grandmother, her memorial is Find A Grave Memorial# 74431543. Thank you!

RE: Helen Foley Correction
Jen,

A photo of the vault and info and links come up for several family members at http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=116637685 (this is the webpage link for Helen's mother Winnie). This page has links to other family members at this mausoleum plus those at two other cemeteries in the area.

There is a reference on the page saying created by Ann.

RE: Helen Foley Correction
Jen,

I would really appreciate it if you would make the changes needed to remove her incorrect information from the CA Find a Grave site and add her to the Oregon Find a Grave page as I have no idea how to do this.

Today I connected the other 4 family members in this vault to the Oregon Find a Grave page on my family tree. This information had never come up as a hint on Ancestry.com.

Helen was my father's cousin and my mother's friend starting in childhood. My mother died when I was 3. Helen lived out of state but when she moved back she took over the roll of substitute mother to me and grandmother to my sons. The boys loved Helen and Ed and daughter Nancy and son Dan. Four of the most wonderful people I have ever known.

RE: Helen Foley Correction
Jen,

Her daughter is in the process of moving to live with a daughter's family and just looks on my computer at what I have on the Ancestry.com tree from time to time. She did supply me with numerous records and pictures for creating the Ancestry.com tree.

You could transfer her to me but just know that all I know how to do is send in corrections when I find a incorrect fact on someone I knew well enough to be certain the data is incorrect.

Helen Foley Correction
Helen Marie Pettyjohn Foley died in San Mateo
County, California while on a trip to visit friends there. She had live in Burlingame for about 1950 until she and Ed moved to Salem, Oregon to care for her mother in the early 1970's.
The funeral organization there may have participated in the transportation of her remains to Salem, Oregon where both she and Edward Foley are interned at the mausoleum at City View Cemetery, in Salem, Marion, Oregon.
She is not buried in San Mateo County, California. I double checked with her daughter today before sending this message. I took flowers to their vault this past week for Memorial Day.
