RE: Margaret Cunningham Walker
I have not been able to find a marriage for Benjamin Walker and Margaret Cunningham, but they were married in Path Valley c1783 according to Caldwell's History of Indiana County, PA. The Path Valley (Presbyterian) marriage records don't start that early, so no luck there.
My theory is that Margaret's father was John Cunningham Sr. The 'best' clue I have found is the 1790 census of Armstrong County (pg 101)
James Cahoun (Calhoun) 6 males >16, 3 males<16, 1 female (Step father of Benjamin Walker)
Ben Walker 1-1-3 (married Margaret Cunningham)
John Cunningham, Sen 1-0-1 (father of Margaret)
John Cunningham, Jun 1-0-1 (son of John?)
pg 102
Andrew Cunningham 1-3-3 (possible brother of Margaret)
To support my theory - Benjamin and Margaret's first 3 sons were named Robert (for his father), John (possible for her father) and Benjamin Jr.
Do you have a will or an estate settlement for ANY Cunninghams in Armstrong County? Both the Register Docket Index and the Index to Wills list a John Armstrong, CUMBERLAND County dated 1797 on page 01, but the records do not start until 1805. Contact me direct at cks @ pa.net if you want to discuss this more,
