Levi Lancaster-Johnathan Eddy Cemetery

I just fulfilled your photo request with a photo that was taken 2 years ago in the snow. I will replace the photo within the next few weeks with an updated one.

RE: Levi Lancaster
You are welcome. It is so hard to be so close and know that one of those stones could have been the one you were searching for but they were broken and in such disrepair it was impossible to read.

RE: Mary Lynch photo
Glad to be of help. I never realized how common the name Lynch is in this area. There are almost 550 in Holy Cross in North Arlington and almost 900 in Holy Name in Jersey city. Luckily the Archdiocese of Newark keeps good records and at least in Holy Cross put Block #, Section #, Tier # and Grave # on the bases of the head stone and the office gave me a map. All it took was walking until you found numbers close to what you were looking for. Yesterday I went back with my iPad and an app "GPS" and wad able to get the coordinated. I tried my Magellan road mate with a back-up battery but the data was different. Holy Cross has over 250,000 burials.
My daughter and I are interested in older cemeteries especially abandoned one to take photos.
We went to Jersey City and Harsimus Cemetery which was abandoned about 15 years ago and a volunteer group was started about 5 or 6 years ago, but there is only so much you can do without funds or heavy equipment. We also wen to Green-Wood Cemetery

There are some notable people buried there, such as Louis Comfort Tiffany, whom I've been trying to find. We have made 2 trips and I'm sure we'll make more.

Levi Lancaster
I searched the entire Jonathan Eddy cemetery in Eddington, Maine. I did find a section of Lancaster's but there was no grave for Levi. However, at least three of the stones were broken in half with other parts of the stone missing and the writing was completely illegible. I suspect he would be in this section but there is too much damage. I did find other Lancaster names if you are interested and would be happy to photograph them if you would like i.e. Rebecca, Hannah, Sam. Carolyn Corey
