Baby Botts photo request...
I walked all of the Floyd Cemetery this afternoon looking for the three photo requests. I found two of the three, but did not see any 'Botts' tombstones or grave markers there.

Do you know what funeral home handled the arrangements and about what year?

Sergeant Thomas W. Botts, Co. I, 86th Illinois
Thanks, Any idea when his daughter Marjorie Elma (Botts) Campbell died and where her mortal remains were lain? Also, is it possible you would have or know of someone who might have pictures of Thomas W. Botts? Thanks, Baxter

Men of Co.I of the 86th
Vernon, Also, please check out my Virtual Cemetery for Co. I. You will find a number of pictures of men Thomas served beside, including Colonel Allen L. Fahnestock, who raised Co. I and who lead the entire regiment during the Atlanta and Carolina Campaigns and on the March to the Sea. Thanks, again! Baxter

Sergeant Thomas W. Botts, Co. I, 86th Illinois
Dear Vernon, As Historian for the living history unit which has portrayed the men of the 86th Illinois since 1985, I have been searching for the final resting place of the 992 men who served in the 86th Illinois and for information and photographs of them for over 30 years now. During this time, I have identified the final resting place of about 910 or these men. I have also accumulated thousands of pages of information about them and have spent thousands of hours making certain that these men had Find A Grave sites and adding their biographies to them. Your email brought me back to Sergeant Thomas W. Botts, who I did set up a site on Find A Grave for him, but, failed to get back to his site to work on his biography. I have spent the last hour or so adding some of the information I have about him to his site and hope to add more shortly. At least for the time being, I would like to continue to manage his site, but in the not too distant future will transfer his site to you.
In the mean time, I would welcome your help in working on his site. I have his Find A Grave site with that of his wife and am trying to get Melinda Botts Peck's site linked to them. I don't know where Marjorie is buried and hope you can help me. I also would love to see pictures of Thomas W. Botts in uniform from his days in the 86th, but, right now, I'd be thrilled just to see a picture, ANY PICTURE, of him. Do you have any photographs of him which you could add to his site?
Well, I better close for now. Thanks again for you email and your interest. I am looking forward to hearing from you again. Please let me know if you can fill in any missing information for me. Sincerely, Baxter

RE: michael v botts
I do not have a way of contacting him. You may wish to send an email to and ask them to merge the two memorials.

Hope that helps!

Harriet Hitchcock Martin
I already had her linked to her husband John H. Martin. Kind of puzzled as to why you sent info, unless some part of her page is incorrect.

RE: settlemyers
You are very welcome. Like I said, if, in the future, you come across a Settlemyer or Botts that I have and you want, just let me know.

Hi Vernon,

Do you have a marriage license, obit or any other information on her? This monument is in the Myrtle Cemetery and that is all that I have on her. Any other info would be great to add. Thanks!
