Have you looked for his daughter, Dolores? The obituary says her married name was Stevens.

I just looked up Delores on Ancestry, and some one in the Wasmund family (her mother's family) has a tree, which says she died in 1994. I don't know if this link will work without an Ancestry membership, but give it a shot! There are a number of family photographs there (including some of Winfred), which would probably interest you, too.

Please note that I have also added his second wife, Ruth, who is buried next to him. I have also found records of his first wife (he was divorced between 1930 and 1940 from Elva Louise or Louisa [Wasmund] Gier), who was the mother of Winfred's children Wallace and Delores. I believe this would be the memorial for son Wallace

RE: James L. Gier marker
Cloudy, gloomy, dark, overcast day here today - - - but just as I was about to take the photos for you, the sun came out nice and bright. When I was done - - back behind the clouds it went. Go figure.
You're very welcome, and I'm happy it turned out well. Best - cb
