PS -I will be able to transfer some of the Bickford memorials I created to you once I have done all that I can for them. I don't confuse guidelines for THE LAW ;)

Amelia Jane Conahan Bickford

Hi Ed,

Her death record is in Massachusetts Vital Records. I researched her using my "Findagrave Research" family "tree" on It also gave her place of burial as St. Joseph Cemetery in Portland, Maine... but that would not be the best primary source for what cemetery she is buried in. They must have been thinking of St. Joseph Cemetery in Biddeford, Maine.

I checked the Roman Catholic Diocese of Portland and she is listed in Calvary Cemetery in South Portland:
Bickford, Amelia J. (Conahan)
Section: L AR
Lot: 1057
Grave Number: 1

Sincerely, Tim Cooper

This is out of guild lines. If you send the links I will add them. Just use the edit tab on his page. Anyone can add photos to a page and they can only be removed by the one who added them.

RE: Helen B. Moulton Bickford
I'm so sorry, Ed. For such a large operation, also a famous cemetery, the conditions of the graves are shameful. Sunken, broken, covered in layers of mud and dead grass and leaves. We've been under snow for a few weeks, but I will try again when the cold breaks and the snow is gone. -Jerry

RE: Bickford Photo
It was an honor. I was glad that a sunny day finally arrived after all the snow, rain, and mud.

Would you like me to transfer Roulette Bickford's memorial to your care?

Hi, Ed:

I was unable to locate and photograph Helen Bickford's stone at Fort Lincoln. The cemetery staff gave me a map to the specific location for her grave (Block 8-483-2), but I find no stone there. It appears that there are several graves in Fort Lincoln Cemetery with no stones at all.

Sorry about this. Jerry Simmons
