I apologize for the delayed response. I am related to the Vitraelli family. Family links to the Vitarelli family are unclear. We think the name may have originally been Vitarelli before the family immigrated to the U.S. My Vitraelli family originates from San Marco la Catola, Foggia, Puglia, Italy. Please feel free to contact me by email for additional information.

Thank you for the response. Mr. DeSander was a good friend to me and a great mentor. He was happy to visit with me when I was home on leave from the Navy and we would talk about all of my overseas adventures as a Navy Photographer.
I remember his sister and bro-in law also as they came to the shop quite often when I was there. I will use the information to update the memorials as soon as I can. I am still a month or more away from posting photos.

BTW, I have photographed all of the grave markers in St Catherines this past fall. I am working diligently to get them all edited and alphabetized so I can upload them in the next few months.

Hello, Is this the same Lewis DeSander that owned the camera store on Washington Ave? I worked there for three years while in high school from 1958-1961. He got me started on my path to success in the world of photography. Just curious as for some reason, I thought his name was Louis.
