Early in 2014 I stumbled onto Find A Grave while researching an unrelated historical figure. I was amazed and delighted to find so many of my family members here. That was the start of what has become a passion for locating, adding, linking, and updating my own family members.
As a four year breast cancer survivor and a member of a family that his dwindled down to a very few, I am constantly reminded of how quickly life goes and how quickly it can change. I have become the "lucky" custodian of my family history and have inherited boxes and boxes of family photos and documents. Unfortunately, at least for now, that passion seems to stop with me and hasn't carried on to my children or grandchildren. I have longed for a way to share and preserve this information and these photos for future generations of my family and other descendents of my ancestors who may be as fascinated by these histories as I am. Find A Grave has given me that way and I'm grateful for it.
My work on Find A Grave has inspired me to create a quickly growing family tree on ancestry.com. It has more people, photos, documents, sources and stories, even though it is, as most genealogy trees are, a work in continuous and endless progress.
Thanks to everyone who has been so kind and helpful as I found my way into and through the Find A Grave process. I'm still learning and I'm now thinking about volunteering to photograph grave sites too because I've so appreciated those who have done so for others. Please feel free to contact me if I can be of any help to you.

|Chad Eugene Schneider||RE: HELLO!!|
Well hi there, missy
How sweet of you to think of me and my family.
Yes, my how this summer has FLOWN by! Jordan is almost 10 and going into the 4th grade at Geiger. Elliot is 7½ and going into the 2nd grade, also at Geiger. Then Gary is 4 and attending 1 more year at Bates ECEAP...then will attend Geiger in the fall of 2015. Then all 3 boys will be in the same school (for only a year until Jordan has to go into middle school in the fall of 2016! UGH!!!! LOL.
As for Jef and I, we're still plugging away at the airport (I for Icelandair and he for Alaska Air). I keep claiming and praying that I can get to the cemetery in time before my claims run out (only 1 car now).
Life goes on!
I hope you have been enjoying this lovely, lovely summer weather that we have been blessed with this year!
love you, dear friend,
|Chad Eugene Schneider||HELLO!!|
I frequently work with Cooper county historical records to update cemetery records. Today, I added a memorial for an infant (# 131003148) that was identified as the child of Andrew and Celeste. When I saw the photos you added to Celeste's memorial, I thought you might be interested in learning of this.

:) Hi Kathie,
Thank you for the lovely Memorial Day wishes. We had a couple different BBQs and the boys had a great time.
I think of you whenever I drive by your old house on 56th

Will be replacing the photo.
|Craig Otta||Christena Geminden Geiger|
I've linked Christena to her parents, but my offline records are unavailable at the moment so I can't say for certain where the marriage info came from. "Christiana" as she is referred to in what I have is the sister of my g-g-grandfather Frank Geminden.
My aunt and I did extensive research on that line a few years ago so it's possible it was in something that was handed down or maybe it is a typo, or even another find-a-grave suggestion. When I get a little more time I'll try to dig it up.

Thank you. I have a talk on the USS Oklahoma that I present to any interested group around Oklahoma at no charge. I have busy for the past several years giving this talk to school groups. We are trying to keep the history of the USS Oklahoma alive and the memory of your uncle will be well preserved along with the other memorabilia from the battleship. Again, thank you. The contact information is Oklahoma History Center, 800 Nazih Zuhdi Drive, Oklahoma City, OK 73105. Telephone 405-521-2491. I retired from the State Museum in 2001 but am still active. Again, thank you
