RE: Janie Brickley
Sure I will change it to J.
About the name,Arzetta I don't know but that was her given name. She apparently went by Janie all the time.

Janie Brickley
I posted your quote about her on her Ancestry profile & in the bio on her findagrave entry for others to see. Have a look. Thanks for letting me know that tidbit about her.

RE: picture of Janie Brickley
She was the wife of 2nd cousin 2x removed. The pic came from my 4th cousin's wife,Geraldine Brown. The pic was a joint one with Esther Rosen Brown.
Esther was the mother of Keith Brown,Geraldine's husband.

RE: Johnson photo
Hi judy. you are right. the stone for Dorothy looks as if it was moved and placed in between her parents. I noticed that, but did not inspect. it seemed to hover a bit above the other two, I expect because it was propped up on both sides by the other stones. I have no idea is she lies beneath the stone as it sits now. The large family stone behind the smaller markers insinuates more Johnsons are buried there, but the only stones with names and dates were for Clara, Dorothy and Charles. Lulu was buried a bit off to the right of Charles, not as close as Clara. Because this grouping is not symmetrically placed in front of the larger stone, I am guessing there might be other unmarked graves to the left, but this is just a guess from someone who knows little about such things.

the graveyard is probably an acre+/-. I am not expert on making those assessments, but it is right outside Tolono, which is a small town. I am sure you can see it on google maps, and can make a guess from that. the main roads here are on a one mile grid. Tolono is changing as Champaign sprawls, and there are now new housing developments obviously created for commuters. it is not far from Champaign, but definitely still feels like a small town.

I did not have a hard time finding the graves. There were 4 names on my list, and I think the Johnson graves were the first I stumbled into. It was a beautiful day, and I took my time.

RE: Johnson photo
I am having trouble loading the images. they are loading upside down or sideways (apparently the site does not want verticals).

It is nice that you are saying hello to your professor. we should all be so lucky.

RE: Johnson photo
No worries. It was a beautiful day and I am happy to help out.
I also took pictures of the other stones in the family plot:
Clara B (mother 1891-1942)
Charles (father 1891-1942)
Dorothy W (daughter 1913-2015)
Lula E (mother 1892-1978) perhaps an aunt to Dorothy?
let me know if you want them.
Linda
