RE: Catharine, dau of Edmund Collins
Oops! I said your Elizabeth Collins could be a cousin of my Elizabeth Collins when I meant to say Catharine Collins, who married Yelventon Bredwell (Elizabeth was Catharine's mother). Sorry, I didn't mean to confuse you. It is still early here on the west coast.

The Collins Book
I saw a post on RootsWeb from December 1997 that said Richard Prewitt "recently" published "The Collins Book" so it is at least that old. So the information will have to be checked for any newly discovered/posted information since then. Thank you again for the link!

Thank you so much for the link to "The Collins Book" as I was not familiar with it. I was able to get the link open and download the PDF file (45.4MB) so now have a copy on my computer (although it is too large to send in an e-mail). I didn't see a year for it. Do you know what year it was written?

I have two Collins families so after reviewing the book I hope to be able to understand them better and perhaps link them together.

I saw Ambrose Collins was in Bracken Co. so thought he may be the father of your Elizabeth Collins. The only child of Ambrose I have listed was son Edmund, presumably named after his uncle. If so, your Elizabeth and my Elizabeth are cousins.

Have you seen this information, posted online in 2008? It is a theory but the information is interesting. I see no responses have been posted to it yet:

I'm glad you contacted me. If you contact me by email I will be able to send you a PDF file of the Collins information I have.

Sincerely,
John

Is your Elizabeth Collins who married George Faulkner in 1801 in Bracken Co., KY, a daughter of Ambrose Collins, brother of Edmund Collins?

RE: Catharine, dau of Edmund Collins
I don't have a date of death for Edmund Collins. Edmund Collins was certainly alive in Mason Co., KY, on September 11, 1796 when he gave permission for his daughter Anne to marry Samuel Thompson. And he probably is the same Edmund Collins named in two Mason Co. deeds in September 1799. Then there is an Edmund Collins in the 1810 and 1820 US census with a male and female both age 45 or over. That maybe our Edmund but as far as I know it is not confirmed. It has been a few years since I've looked into this family so am not up on any recent history.

The only Barbee I have in my records is an Elizabeth Barbee who married who married Thomas Collins in 1740. Thomas is a younger brother of my ancestor Joseph Collins who married Susannah Lewis in 1708 (and whose daughter Marry Collins married John Brockman). I know the Collins and Lewis families can be confusing.

If you want to contact me directly you may do so at my email posted on my Find A Grave member page.

Catharine, dau of Edmund Collins
You asked if I have a source for Catharine Collins Bredwell # 68044517 being the daughter of Edmund and Elizabeth Collins. Here is what I have in my notes:

Permission of Edmund / Edmond Collins for marriage of Yelventon Bredwell and Catherine Collins. (MSJ notes: photocopy, probably of original record, received 6/23/2001 from Harry Conlon; transcription by MSJ)

"Bourbon, March, 17th 1791
I do hereby certify that I have no objections
against Yelventon Bredwell's having my daugh-
ter Catherine Collins to be his lawfull wife
and witness this day and date above
Test. Edmond Colins
Wm Barbee
Wilson Mattocks"

Edmund Collins is listed in the Bourbon Co. tax records from 1790 to 1794. In about 1795 he moved to Mason county where there are records of his consent for daughters Mary and Anne to marry.

Hope this helps.

RE: Jemima (Collins) Kenton
Like I told someone else, just because I maintain a memorial I cannot delete someone else's photos. I have sent a message to this guy but it appears he is being one that ignores suggestions.

Sorry I can't be of further help, but since you are part of the Kenton family, would like to talk with you about the Kenton/Jett ancestry.

I make Memorial's for any Fagan's I might run across while researching my Fagan's I see I made Memorials for Joseph and Minnie DILLON Fagan the daughter of William Dillon I connected Millie to her parents and I must have left a flower for William after I connected him to his daughter. If you are interested in maintaining Minnie Dillon Fagan's Memorial just let me know and I will be more than happy to transfer the Memorial over to you

There are 70 William Dillon's from Ohio on Find a Grave. Which Willam might you be referring to that I left a flower on his Memorial. Please give me his Memorial #. The name is not familiar to me off hand, but I usually only leave flowers on Memorial I have made or for family.
Welcome to FindaGrave
