Bio Photo I will be happy to help with cemetery photo requests in the southern NH and southern ME area. I can also help with family connections, dates and such through Ancestry.com.

~The ancient Egyptians believed that a person would have eternal life if someone spoke their name after they died. That's why they wrote the names of their pharaohs in stone, to be read by their descendants. It's also why I read names on headstones out loud as I search through cemeteries for my ancestors. ~Connie G.~

RE: George A. Titcomb, Laurel Hill Cemetery
Connie,
Thank you for all the wonderful photos and the new information! Yes she is Abby. I believe the names might be reversed. Could you also add the 'mother' and Titcomb photos to Abby like you have on George's page? I wonder if the 'son' marker is for Samuel? Could you also add the Titcomb photo to him? Yes, if they are not related to you, you could transfer the memorials to me so I can add data and other links. Thanks so much for all your help.

Thanks Connie for the info on the duplicate memorials. I have deleted the other one and thanks for the picture of the head stone.

RE: Merrill Cemetery, Gilmanton, NH
Hi Connie G.,

I don't know anything about the Merrill's buried here. I was taking a photo of Paul's headstone for a photo request. I took photos of all the other stones in the cemetery while I was there. If Joseph Huckins is buried there, there is no stone or it was down and covered over (ground was still snow covered).

The cemetery is part way up a hill on the right side of the road. It sits up on a knoll so the stones are hard to see. It is right next to the road. I think there was a partial old stone wall that looks like a grave enclosure that made me notice it.

The cemetery is probably on private property but it is not posted. There are signs around it but they appear posted to intentionally not include the cemetery. There is a house on the other side of the road and while I was there the owner was working in his yard and his dog came over and kept me company while I photographed the stones.

Good luck if you search for it again.

Regards,
Scott

New Rye Cemetery
Thanks Connie. I deleted my photos that you had replaced. I might take you up someday on other searches in your area but we like to travel up there in the Fall anyways. It's a nice trip from Western NY, providing I take the time to find what I'm looking for (not always the case as you well know). What cemeteries do you feel comfortable searching in? Again, many many thanks for your wonderful searching for gravesites. - David

New Rye Photos You Should Enter
I believe I used your photos in the following sites - James L. Bartlett, Sarah Yeaton-Bartlett, Walter Pickard, Sarah Bartlett-Pickard, Charles Brown, Mary Bartlett-Brown, Josiah Smith & Susan Bartlett-Smith. I would like it if you posted your photos onto these sites and I will delete mine. Thanks Connie.

New Rye & Short Falls Cemeteries
I added a few memorials to these cemeteries today so as to get more info out there but I would like to give you credit for the photos. How do I do that? Thanks.

Cemetery Site Upgrades
Hi Connie - thanks for your vote of confidence on my getting more accurate info onto Find-A-Grave sites but this would be a huge undertaking as I have pretty accurate info on thousands of buried persons (actually over 38,000 people in my Family File). Maybe I should make gravesite upgrading an ongoing project but I'm just afraid that I would get bogged down with having to spend the rest of time upgrading such sites when it would be better for me to do the real research into getting family facts documented. I am torn about this as I also would like to get such facts to those people doing cemetery research like you are doing, but if they would go to my file on RootsWeb.com they would get the family facts but without the cemetery photos. I have lots of those but they don't get displayed on RootsWeb. Maybe I will do a little of the cemetery upgrading from time to time. What do you think about posting my own entry to a cemetery even though there is already an entry for that person there? It would be lengthy to get management of an entry turned over to me rather than just post my own entry. You can tell I have thought about this before but just never took any real action on it. I do have a few sites out there but I was never interested in just getting numbers, so I haven't pursued it much. Thanks again Connie. - David

Charles & Mary nettie Brown Stone
Connie, thanks so very much for your wonderful work in getting this gravestone photo. I missed this stone during my trip last Fall and so much thank you for your diligence in finding it. These flat stones are so difficult to find as you have to walk right up to them to see the names. Thanks again for your wonderful work in finding these burial sites.
